Our Bangalore to Tirumala day, hour by hour
We leave home at 4 am with idli packed by our mother and coffee in a flask. By 6:30 we cross Kolar and stop for a quick break near Mulbagal. Chittoor comes by 8, and we are at the Alipiri check post a little after 9.
The bus or car takes about an hour up the ghat road. We change into dhoti and saree at a pilgrim amenity centre, keep phones in the car and report for our ₹300 slot. After darshan we eat at annaprasadam, collect laddus and start back by 3 pm, reaching Bangalore by 9 or 10 at night.
If the kids are small or elders are with us, we stay one night in Tirupati and visit Kanipakam on the way home next morning.
